LETTER FROM THE DIRECTORJune at the St. Joseph Arts Academy
Dear SJAA Students and Families,Summer is officially here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re wondering how it arrived so quickly! School may be out, but some of the best musical opportunities of the year are just getting started.Summer is a wonderful time for students to grow as musicians. With a little more flexibility in the schedule and fewer school-year demands, many students find they can make tremendous progress during the summer months. In fact, some of our biggest breakthroughs happen between June and August. One of my favorite summer tips is simple: make music part of your routine, not your to-do list. A few minutes of focused practice each day is often more effective than trying to cram everything into one long session. Set a small goal, celebrate progress, and enjoy the process.Summer is also a great time to explore something new. Many SJAA students use the summer months to add a second instrument, try voice lessons, join a group class, or take an extra lesson each week to accelerate their progress. Whether you’re just getting started or have been playing for years, summer can be the perfect season to stretch yourself musically. We’re also having a fantastic time sharing music throughout the community. This summer you’ll see SJAA students and teachers performing at local events including the AKMA Art FairHawkfest Jazz & Blues Festival, recitals, community performances, and other special events. These opportunities allow students to build confidence, gain experience, and experience the joy of sharing music with others. Before we know it, summer will be over and we’ll be talking about back-to-school schedules again. That’s why we’re encouraging everyone to make the most of every opportunity. Learn a new song. Perform for family and friends. Attend a concert. Take part in our summer practice challenges. Most importantly, keep making music. At SJAA, we believe music should be one of the highlights of your summer—not something that gets put on hold until fall. The students who stay engaged over the summer often return stronger, more confident, and ready for the next level of growth. On behalf of our entire faculty, thank you for being part of the SJAA family. We hope your summer is filled with great memories, new experiences, and plenty of music.Have fun, stay inspired, and make this summer your best one yet!

Jason is professional and holds students to a high standard but always interacts with them in a very positive and encouraging way. The business is clean and in a great location with easy parking. Besides individual instruction, they offer many opportunities for the students to perform in events, festivals and recitals. We are very happy we chose St Joseph Arts Academy and highly recommend it! “- Jenny M.#MusicAccomplishedOur June “Student of the Month” is…

Sunny A.!

We are so lucky to have Sunny and her family with us at the SJAA.

Sunny will be a freshman next year and will be attending Bishop LeBlond High School. Her activities include theater, cheer, and she plans to add cross country. She loves being on stage and participates in theater at The Rubidoux Resident Theater, Leblond High School Theater, and CAP. This summer she will be in Willy Wonka Jr and Newsies Jr. She loves singing and plans to join the Leblond concert choir. She has a passion for cheerleading and will be cheering for Leblond as a freshman next school year. She loves to draw, read, and play piano and is wanting to learn the violin next. Sunny loves animals and has 4 cats and plans to be a Veterinarian.

We’ll celebrate Sunny with a gift card for her!
